Sandbars Raw Bar & Grill, now under new ownership, is often touted as one of the best places to enjoy for happy hour and beyond. Executive Chef Mark Shafer and Manager and co-owner Jennifer Beal, have worked hard to reestablish Sandbars as a restaurant that served quality fresh food in a friendly accommodating atmosphere. Sand Bars offers a fantastic selection of fresh shrimp, oysters, clams & combo plates as well as burgers and steaks, sandwiches, chicken, salads and more for both lunch and dinner. They feature an ever changing menu for daily specials – seeking out the freshest, local & regional seafood available. Fine selection of wine with a wide array of beers on tap.

$20 Lunch or Dinner Menu

  • 1st Course: Choose one
    • Sandbar’s House Garden Salad
      Romaine Lettuce, Cucumber, Tomato and Red Onion, with your choice of dressing.
    • Soup
      Choose a cup of either She-Crab, Hatteras Style Chowder, or our special Soup of the Day.
  • 2nd Course: Choose one
    • Calamari
      A generous portion of our lightly battered and fried fresh made calamari – a Local’s favorite at Sandbars!
    • The Sandbar’s Burger
      Choice of Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper Jack, or American with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Pickle
    • Key Lime Chicken
      Grilled Chicken, Pepper Jack Cheese, Avocado slices, and grilled Pineapple
  • 3rd Course:
    • Dessert of the Day

    • Hearts of Palm and Avocado Salad
      Romaine Lettuce, Hearts of Palm, Tomato, Fresh Parsley, sliced Avocado, and Julienned Sweet Onions tossed in balsamic vinaigrette

      lightly battered and fried and served with homemade calamari sauce
    • Pretzels & Beer Cheese
      Pretzels with creamy beer cheese and spicy brown mustard

    • Steamed Combo #2 (the Big one!)
      Includes 1/4 pound seasoned shrimp, 3 clams, 3 James River oysters, and 1/2 pound crab legs.

      Two grilled chicken breasts topped with a spicy Thai glaze, tropical salsa and served over Jasmine rice.

      Stone ground cheese grits, shrimp, chorizo, and tomatoes tossed in a spicy cream sauce.

      Shrimp, crab and red peppers tossed in a creamy lobster sauce.
