To make the week even more exciting, there is also a Special Event….The Outer Banks Restaurant Association is proud to announce the first-ever Outer Banks Fish Taco Taste-off!

On Saturday, November 1st, beginning at Noon (start time), and going until 3:00pm (end time) and just $20 per person, at the Sea Ranch Resort parking lot, milepost 6.5 oceanfront on the Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills. (All tickets will be sold at the door, cash preferred)

Enjoy and taste an abundant variety of FISH TACOS from your favorite restaurants, all competing for awards to see who is judged “Best OBX Fish Taco” by our panel of judges. We will also have an award for the best in People’s Choice votes.

The cuisine of Fish Tacos, a long time favorite dish in many Outer Banks (and coastal) restaurants, offers a huge opportunity for a variety of species, recipes and presentations. Be ready to taste tacos featuring locally caught Tuna, Rockfish or Mahi. Throw in a few other varieties like Talapia or Flounder, and you soon realize the taste possibilities are endless. The Outer Banks Restaurant Association is so excited to bring this original idea to fruition, for all to enjoy. This first annual event is sure to be a culinary hit and we anticipate it will become a long-standing favorite and annual Outer Banks event.

All tickets will be sold at the door…
for just $20 per person (Adults are 15 y/o+). Your admission includes one drink of choice (beer, wine, soda, water)
Kids (“Tweens”) 7-14 are just $10.
Kids 6 and under are FREE! (no drink included)
Please bring cash for easy transactions and fast admittance.

 

The Fine Print

This is a family friendly event. We ask that you act accordingly.
Your ticket includes ONE (1) beverage. There will be beer/wine/soda/water. If you desire another beverage, you may purchase additional tickets for drinks from the check-in table for just $3 each. If you prefer something different from what is offered, Beachside Bistro has a full cash bar inside the restaurant, but your drink tickets will not be exchanged. (Have your photo ID with you for alcoholic service) No alcoholic beverages can leave the premises. No outside beverages will be permitted on the premises.
If you need to use a credit or debit card to pay for tickets, you will be asked to go inside the Beachside Bistro and ring through their system. This will take longer, (and cost us a few % in fees) so again we ask that you be prepared with cash.
This is a walk around event with no provided seating. There are grass areas in which you can sit or set up your own camp chairs. Feel free to bring a fold up chair if you will not be able to stand or walk around for the duration. You may bring well behaved dogs on a leash.
There are about 100 parking spaces available on site. Auxiliary parking is available at the nearby Second and First street beach accesses to the south (easily walkable), and 5th street beach access parking to the north.
In the event of severe weather, the event may be moved indoors to the Sea Ranch banquet room. In this case admission will be limited to the room capacity at any given time, but the event will still go on.
