Cafe Lachine is a small eatery that serves sandwiches on homemade bread, soups, salads and baked goods including custom cakes. They are open from 7am to 3pm for breakfast and lunch everyday. Full service dinner is now offered Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm-9pm. They also offer catering for any occasion.
Cafe Lachine is owned by husband and wife team, Johanna and Justin Lachine. Johanna is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America where she helped to organize and care for their organic garden. Influenced by Alice Waters of Chez Panisse, she knows the importance of using fresh ingredients and enhancing the natural flavors of food. Justin is a graduate of Johnson and Wales in 2002, then traveled to Maui where he had the opportunity to work at Roy Yamaguchi’s Kahana Bar and Grill. In 2005 he helped to open Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Virginia Beach, where he was executive chef. Justin knows the importance of both taste and presentation.
Cafe Lachine won first place in the 2012 Taste of the Beach Chowder Cookoff as well as other awards for their cuisine. Don’t let this small place fool you, they’re are big flavors here!
Please note that Cafe Lachine’s offering for Fall Restaurant Week is for dinner only (5-9pm) and they are closed for dinner Sunday and Monday (October 27 & 28) during Restaurant Week.
